About the event

Lake Shkodra — shared between Albania and Montenegro — is the largest lake in the Balkans, covering over 370 square kilometers. Its Albanian shore, centered around the quiet fishing village of Shiroka, is a world away from the typical tourist trail: calm, unhurried, breathtakingly beautiful, and rich in birdlife. A half-day kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) experience here is one of the most serene and rewarding activities anywhere in northern Albania.

Your session begins at Shiroka (approximately 5 km from Shkodra center), where your instructor will give you a safety and technique briefing before you launch your kayak or paddleboard from the pebbly shore. The water of Lake Shkodra is remarkably clear and calm, making it ideal for beginners and experienced paddlers alike.

As you paddle out from Shiroka, the views are immediately spectacular: the Accursed Mountains rise sharply behind you, their peaks often snow-capped into June; the old city…
