The Peaks of the Balkans Trail is not just a hike — it is a transformative journey through one of Europe's last truly wild alpine frontiers. Spanning the border regions of Albania, Kosovo, and Montenegro across the dramatic Accursed Mountains (Bjeshkët e Namuna / Prokletije), this 192-kilometer circuit trail passes through remote villages, across high mountain passes, through ancient forests, and along glacial rivers in a landscape so raw and beautiful that many experienced hikers call it the finest mountain trekking experience they have had anywhere in Europe.
This 3-day guided version of the Peaks of the Balkans from Shkodra covers the most spectacular highlights of the Albanian section, including the iconic Theth to Valbona pass crossing — a full-day, 16-kilometer hike over a mountain pass at 1,860 meters with views that will stop you in your tracks.
