Traditional Sunset Fishing Experience with Local Fishermen

Shëngjin is, before it is a tourist resort, a fishing town — and the fishing culture here runs deep, stretching back centuries to when the Port of Shëngjin was one of the most important commercial harbors on the northern Albanian coast. This intimate, small-group evening experience gives you direct access to that tradition through a genuinely authentic partnership with local fishermen families who have fished these Adriatic waters for generations.

You meet your fishing family at the Port of Shëngjin in the late afternoon, approximately 2 hours before sunset. Your captain and host, typically a third or fourth-generation fisherman, speaks through the guide/interpreter and will begin by showing you around the traditional wooden gajeta or aluminum fishing boat — pointing out the different types of nets, traps, hooks, and lines used for different species and seasons, and explaining the Adriatic's seasonal fishing rhythms.
